Hi my darlings! Did you think I abandoned you? NO NO!! My life for the past month has been insane: law school finals, organizing my parents 25th wedding, my family and my boyfriend's (now fiancé yaay) family arrived for vacation, and various parties to attend. YES, I was very busy, but I am sorry and now I am back!!!
My first post had to be about my new favorite obsession: the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Powders and Palette. We all want that lit-from-within glow, because who doesn’t want to look like they have naturally radiant skin? So, we reach for our beloved highlighters, but if we put them all over our face we're left looking like a 60's disco ball!!
If you love to take Selfies like I do (and most of the world), you know that the right lightning makes a big difference. This, Hourglass also knows, which is why they designed their six $45 Ambient Lighting Powders to make skin appear as if it’s bathed in flattering light. Hourglass says, the secret is the transparent, color-correcting particles in the powders that filter and manipulate light.
There's no need to $$ for a film crew or an expensive studio setup. All you need is to pick one of the powder by its illuminating effect — Diffused Light, Ethereal Light, Radiant Light, Mood Light, Dim Light or Luminous Light.
This online imagine shows all the powders and they are GREAT!! |
Since I love the Powder so much, I decided to try out the Pallet from on my wishlist (check out the post), and WOW, it did not disappoint!!!
Now, let’s see the colors:
Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette contains three shades of the brand’s Ambient Lighting
Powders. The three shades include Dim Light and Radiant Light, both which are part of the permanent range, and a new (and
limited edition) shade called Incandescent Light. Each shade is 0.116 oz. in size, compared
to the full-sized compact which contains 0.35 oz.
The palette is pricey, but you are getting
a variety of shades of a product that is already quite pricey individually.
Therefore, it may be worth it, and it will take awhile to get through these
pans even at this size.
Dim
Light is
described as a “neutral peach beige powder.” It’s a pale, light beige with
neutral to warm undertones and a very subtle satin shimmer/sheen. According
to Hourglass, the main purpose of Dim Light is to blur imperfections–which it
does.
Incandescent
Light is
described as a “pearlescent powder.” It’s a pale, light beige with neutral
undertones and a soft ivory shimmer. It’s a bit different from the other
Ambient Light powders, because it is a lot more shimmer, but does not make the
skin appear oily. I really love this one for illuminating the skin!! It does exactly what Hourglass says “highlight
cheekbones and [brighten] the complexion with a celestial glow.” FAVORITE!
Radiant
Light is
described as a “golden beige powder.” I describe Radiant Light, as a super sheer, semi-matte golden beige/bronze with flecks of golden glitter. Very pale complexions will see this work more obviously on
their skin tone than medium or deeper complexions. But nonetheless, my skin is medium and
this shade looks beautifully
